News in Brief
Last week Sam, Stacey, Niamh and Charlotte had a hectic, but fabulous, schedule doing the hair of the entire cast of Guys & Dolls at Arden School every night. While in the meantime Maria from BellaDonna was busy spray-tanning 40 girls for the production of South Pacific at Solihull School.
Awards
Winning awards isn’t just about parties (although we love that bit!) it’s about having the opportunity to showcase our expertise, creativity and know-how and be acknowledged and rewarded for it. In 2009 we celebrated two wins, four nominations and had the front cover of Perfect Hair and feature position in Hairdressers Journal. This year we hope to continue and build on our success.
Date for the Diary
Where has the time gone?! This year we will be our 10th birthday and so it just goes to show that time really does fly when you're having fun! We wil be celebrating our 10th anniversary with pink champagne & stylish nibbles on the evening of Saturday May 29, so save the date in your diary now! |
Colourist to the stars’ visits Aesthetics! Adrian and I are very passionate about hairdressing and absolutely love what we do. So my Christmas gift to Adrian this year was for him to spend a day with renowned colourist to the celebs Josh Woods and, as I expected, he was thrilled!
As colourist to Elle Macpherson and Kylie, Josh gave the Aesthetics technical team a truly fantastic and memorable day. The team were buzzing with the advanced skills and applications they’d learnt and were itching to pass them on to their clients. You can see photos of the day here on our blog

 Salon News
Last month Adrian, Paula, Stacey and I had an amazing day in London, shooting our latest collection in time to enter the British Hairdresser of the Year Awards (BHA). Although we do a photo shoot every year this is the first time we’ve entered the BHA and as it’s the most-wanted award in the industry we are more excited than a child on Christmas Eve – we really cannot wait!
Four months of planning, culminated in a day at the Worx with leading photographer John Rawson, top London models, an amazing make- up artist and the superb stylist Bernard Connolly. The day was fashionably fantastic with a buzz of excitement and adrenaline. Bernard’s stylish sense of humour had everyone in hysterics and he obviously enjoyed working with us as much as we did him as he kindly gave us all a souvenir of the day, including the stunning dress you can see above - we heart Bernard! It was an exhasuting but truly exhilirating day and we now have six show-stopping looks to enter into the awards, so fingers and toes crossed for a nomination!

Voluptuous Volume
Texture and volume are big news this Spring! Whether you’re wearing your hair up or down you’ve got to think BIG!  Using volumising products like Redken’s Rootfill and Layer Lift will help you to create a voluptuous style. For the scruffy chic look use Redken’s Wool Shake to create texture and volume without stickiness.
Use big rollers to create a bouncy bouffant like Cheryl Cole or tip the head upside down and pull into a ponytail and twist on itself to create a scruffy bun. If you’re short on time roughly pull your hair into a ponytail and crimp it to create texture with an 80’s edge |
